This introductory course for Dietitians is designed to prepare you to work more confidently, safely and ethically with clients presenting with a range of disordered eating presentations, elevating your knowledge, insights and skills. We are committed to weight inclusivity and trauma-informed care, and this course will be firmly dedicated to upholding these principles from screening to treatment and beyond.
This training has been approved by NEDC as meeting the criteria for "Introduction to Eating Disorders" and can be used towards an ED Credential application.
This course is 15 hours self-paced (all recorded online)
This foundational training is suitable for Dietitians at any stage of career, working across all sectors who are likely to encounter people at risk of, or who have, an eating disorder. In other words, that’s pretty much everyone! The content is focussed on the key opportunities to play our part in prevention, identification and early intervention and is aligned with the NEDC ED Safe Care Principles and NEDC Stepped System of Care (SSoC) Framework
Completing this course will leave you feeling more clear and confident in understanding your role and scope of practice as a Dietitian in contributing to safe, high quality care to all people, in all bodies. You will also be clear about how to have important conversations which aim to link people into specialist services in a timely way that is best matched to their needs.
Our aim is that you will leave feeling clear in your role and confident in taking the steps in contributing to a workforce where we can take good care of all people, wherever they are along their pathway.
This multi-module self-paced course offers a high quality, comprehensive opportunities to ingest, digest, pause and reflect through each module, which includes:
Setting up the foundation for good work
The what, who, how and why of Eating Disorders
The role of the Dietitian
Screening processes for safe practice
The Dietetic Assessment (this is a deep dive and you'll be stepped through every aspect of the assessment)
Next steps in care, including supported decision making
